Shadow of Fear! 150 Migrant Workers from Tufanganj Flee Haryana in Panic
Migrant workers from Cooch Behar are being forced to return home in fear due to police atrocities in BJP-ruled states. Merely speaking the Bengali language has cast a dark shadow over their lives. Around 150 migrant workers from Tufanganj left Haryana in terror. They hired buses themselves and returned to Tufanganj on Wednesday morning.
Most of these workers, along with their families, had been working in Haryana for nearly a decade. They allege that if anyone was heard speaking Bengali, they were detained by the police on suspicion of being Bangladeshi. To be released from the police station, they had to pay a hefty bribe. To save their lives, they were forced to abandon their jobs and flee. Many are now sharing their harrowing experiences.
